In my art I often reflect on the views and feelings that I experience as an artist in the prevailing climate crisis. We are now playing a kind of survival game of doom and death, and the time for resolution is this decade. Everyday life also includes concern for our loved ones. Our parents gets older, dies and leave this dimension. We are left to take care of the offspring and inevitably have to notice the shortness of the life cycle: then some day we ourselves will also die and our descendants must to survive without us. What kind of world do they end up in?

With these thoughts in mind, I have already for a long time used almost exclusively ecologically sustainable plant dyes produced by myself in my paintings. Although there are very dark thoughts behind my works, the colors are beautiful and I enjoy to use them very much. I made the inks that i used in these colourful paintings at Muhu Kunstitalu on Muhu island in Estonia in the summer of 2024.
