My exhibition deals with what we have inherited from our ancestors, what is left of it, and what remains of it for our descendants. In my works, I reflect on the spiritual relationship between man and nature, the heritage we receive from our ancestors, nature and our relationship to it.

The central material of the exhibition is the subjects of folklore about the connection between human and nature, where the difference between human, the rest of nature and the spirits of nature has dissolved. I bring motifs and themes from our Finno-Ugric tradition to the language of contemporary art and the context of contemporary culture in such a way that those who experience art have the opportunity to reach a sense of cultural continuity, a connection to our rich cultural heritage. I deal with my themes in a transcultural situation: my art has cultural influences from Eastern Finland, Lapland and Estonia..

I have been developing my own way of working in fine art for decades, studying, among other things, natural pigments. This approach of mine is now updated with the prevailing new material philosophy also in the contexts of the art world.

The works in my exhibition are made from recycled and natural materials, including the pigments of the paints.

I am a nature activist and my themes are glocal, they are located at the intersection of the local and the global, for example mining disputes and forest policy. My themes are current in the field of international environmental political contemporary art.
